Goals

A few posts back, we told you about our financial situation in June of this year. If you haven’t already, you can read about it here. I had a realization as I was falling asleep last night, so I knew I needed to share it. I want to share with you one of the things that we did to CHANGE our situation. I wrote a goal back in June that I have typed out for you below:

July 17, 2009

I am so grateful that we are current on all of our financial promises.
I am grateful for the increasing abundance in our financial accounts.
I am grateful for the increasing variety of activities we enjoy together as a family.
We enjoy delicious and healthy food each day.
We live in a beautiful and clean home.

I memorized those 5 lines and repeated them out loud every single day at least 10 times. What’s amazing is that after a few days of that, I found myself repeating them without even thinking about doing it. (Kind of like when you have a song stuck in your head and you realize you’ve been singing it.) It was last night that I realized that it was the week of July 17th, after I had been repeating this goal for about a month, that we received the phone call with the offer for our family to move down to Dallas, Texas. I have to tell you that because of that HUGE decision we made to move our whole family across the country only 4 weeks from when we received the offer, we are now CURRENT ON ALL OF OUR FINANCIAL PROMISES, we have more money in our accounts than we have ever had; that is actually ours to use. We do more things as a family than we EVER have before. We go out and do something fun together at least once a week, and that is the highlight of our week! We enjoy delicious fruits and vegetables each day. Our children love them, and of couse I love THAT! We are living in a home that is at least 4 times the size of the home we were living in previously. It’s beautiful, and a couple of weeks after we arrived, the housekeeper quit because she asked for more money, and was told no, so I AM the one who cleans it so now I know that it’s a “beautiful and clean home”.

I’ve posted about this to show you that focusing on your goals makes miracles occur, but there are important things to know when writing goals like this. I plan on going in depth on those different details tomorrow, so make sure you read!
